Violist Anastasia Sofina comes from Moscow. She received her Artist Diploma and Master of Performance degrees with Distinction at Royal College of Music (London), where she was studying with Jonathan Barritt as a scholar. She received a Specialist Diploma degree after studies at P.I. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory and was a grant holder of the Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation for two years (2009-2011) and received the Annual Award of the Moscow Government for the most talented students of educational institutions under the jurisdiction of the Moscow City’s Department of Culture for 5 years consecutively (2009-2013). Anastasia has participated in masterclasses with such musicians as P. Zukerman, J.Bashmet, M. Rysanov, N. Imai, M. Kugel and others.
Anastasia is a regular performer at various concerts, masterclasses, and festivals. She has performed in Austria, Belgium, Byelorussia, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain and Russia and in such venues as Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, St-Martin-in-the-Fields, V&A Museum in London. She has played with such orchestras as Chamber Orchestra “The Seasons”, Slovak Sinfonietta Zilina State Chamber Orchestra, Norwegian Youth Chamber Music Festival Orchestra and Camerata Viesgo of the Encounter with such conductors as Peter Csaba, Wouter Lenaerts, Vladislav Bulakhov.
Anastasia is a laureate of 15 international competitions.
Anastasia is a keen chamber musician. Despite the young age, she has performed along such musicians as Frans Helmerson, Sasha Rozhdestvensky, Alexander Rudin, Radovan Vlatkovich, Gerard Causse, members of the Allegri Quartet, Alexandros Halapsis and Alexey Seleznev. She is a member of the prize-winning Rolton Trio and a member of the Clara String Quartet.
Composer Shandor Kallosh wrote two works for Anastasia. She played other his works on broadcasted programs of the State Russian Radio and at the TV-station Culture. Anastasia has recorded her first CD “Palette. 20th Century” with the Pavlik Records (Slovakia, 2012). She has recently appeared on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune and on TV Brava.
